Betty joined this world June 20, 1938 and was called home June 26, 2024. She was born in Lampasas, Texas, to Doyle and Alvaree (Spradlin) Yeary. She started her schooling at Nix then went on to Lampasas High School where she would letter in basketball. After graduating from LHS, she attended Decatur Junior College, getting a degree in Secretarial Skills.
After her sons, Lynn and Bryan, started school, she got involved in the Criminal Justice Field. She started as a dispatcher for the Burnet County Sheriff Office and then on to Juvenile Probation Officer for the 33rd Judicial District. She finished her career with the Travis County Sheriff Office as a correctional officer.
After retiring, she moved to her beloved Highland Lakes where she loved seeing the Bluebonnets bloom each spring on the backroads. In the fall, she would watch her team, The Longhorns, play every Saturday. When football was over it was the Lady Horns Basketball.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bryan. She is survived by one son, Lynn and wife Lisalettle, one granddaughter Olivia and husband Terry and great granddaughter Lillian Rose of Wintersville, Ohio, one grandson, Chase, of Morgan's Point, Texas and a sister Billie Canales of Lampasas, Texas.
A memorial service will be held on July 5, 2024, at 10:00 am, at Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls.
