Barbara M. Wiegand, 72, of Marble Falls, TX passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Barbara was a remarkable woman whose love, sense of humor, and compassion touched the hearts of all who knew her. Born on September 25, 1952, in Levelland, Texas, Barbara was raised by her parents, Thomas and Minnie Bell Brown, who instilled in her the values of hard work and kindness.
Barbara spent her early adult life in Amarillo, TX where her parents were customers of Emil Lee. In 1977, while working at IHOP and with two kids at home, Barbara started dating the son of Emil -- Michael Wiegand. Barbara and Michael married later that year and made an unwavering commitment to love and support their family. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and more than the occasional prank, adventures around the country, and an unbreakable bond and patience that served as a foundation for their family.
Barbara spent a number of years working as a nurse aid, first in Amarillo, then in Pasadena. One day she would be changing beds on the geriatric floor, the next day she’d be running errands or tending to newborns. While she gained a number of caregiving skills through her work as a nurse aid, it was her lighthearted compassion that drove her success in and out of the hospital.
Once Michael and Barbara moved to Burnet, they started Lake Country Collision, the premier auto repair and custom body shop in town. Barbara was the company’s bookkeeper and office manager ensuring day-to-day operations ran smoothly. It’s a mystery and a miracle that Michael and Barbara worked together (mostly) happily day-in and day-out for over 30 years.
Above all, Barbara was known for her caring demeanor, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and valued, creating an atmosphere of warmth and love wherever she went. Her unwavering support and encouragement were a constant source of strength for her family, and her devotion was unmatched. Barbara’s home was always the fun house – with regular gatherings celebrating Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
Barbara is survived by her husband Michael, beloved daughters, Shannon Stiles and Samantha Wiegand, and her sons, Jimmy Davis and Michael (Chelsea) Wiegand. Barbara poured her heart into nurturing her children, guiding them through life's challenges, and celebrating their dreams. Her love extended to her granddaughters, Alexius (Greg) Gonzalez, Abigail Stiles, and Maya Wiegand who brought her immense joy, and to her great-grandsons, Braxton and Zeke, who were the shining lights of her later years. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Davis.
Though Barbara's passing has left a profound void in our lives, her legacy of kindness and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She touched and pranked countless lives with her nurturing nature, infectious laughter, and vibrant spirit. She will be deeply missed.
