January 30, 1954 - April 6, 2017
Butch passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at University Hospitals Parma Medical Center. Butch was born in Mansfield on January 30, 1954 to William Hairston Sr. and Norma Hairston.
Butch had a big heart and knew how to make everyone smile. He was a tools salesman all his life and did his job well. He loved his job because he could always be with people and travel often. He loved to fish at Lake Erie and go to Put-In-Bay. He loved teaching his grandson Griffin the tricks of the trade and go fishing with him. Butch used to love to go hunting and have lots of hunting dogs in his younger years. If you knew Butch at all, his best friend was his dog Lucy. If he was going somewhere, she was sure to follow. Some of his best memories that he loved to talk about was when he played softball with the guys. Butch would tell you to have a beer for him at the lake and tell stories of his good ole days with his best big Butchie grin and laugh. He was loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his daughter Bethany Montgomery, son Matthew Hairston, grandson Griffin Williams, and father William Hairston Sr.. He was preceded in death by his mother Norma Hairston and brother Scott Hairston.
There will be no services at this time. His daughter is taking care of his arrangements. The Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the Hairston family.
