Willard Eugene Stamper went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 12, 2022 after a battle with lung cancer. He was born on December 31, 1946 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Alvin and Irene Stamper.
Willard moved to Mansfield in 1964 to pursue a career in carpentry. In 1973 he became an owner/operator truck driver until he retired in 2009.
Willard married the love of his life, Carolyn, on March 24, 1966 and they remained married until her death in 2018. He enjoyed semi trucks, yard tractors, classic cars, the YMCA, volunteering at the Salvation Army and spending time with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Clifford Stamper (Sheila Ramsey); his daughter, Nancy Stamper (Jeff Carter); four grandchildren, Shannon Stamper (Justin Hall), Sarah Stamper, Sharon Stamper (Chris Boling) and Carolyn Stamper (Dan Supron); six great grandchildren, Hailey Kennedy, Maddy Kennedy, Gemma Hall, Joel Mastin, Coy Boling and AnnaMarie Boling; seven brothers, Everett, Leroy, Virgil, Paul Jack Arthur and Andy Stamper; six sisters, Ruth Riley, Reba Mays, Nickie Wilson, Frances DeHart, Wilma Jean Lewis and Joann Williams, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his beloved cat, Cal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn and two sisters, Ruby Knipp and Bonnie Lewis.sd
Willard will be greatly missed by all who knew him and our lives will forever be changed.
The family would like to address their thanks to OhioHealth Hospice and their care for him the past two months.
