Shirley Marie Adkins, 73 of Mansfield, Ohio passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 26, 2022. She was born in Mansfield on October 11, 1949 to the late Henry Eaton and Dorothy (Taylor) Dean.
Shirley had worked for 33 years as a custodian at Madison Schools. She was strong and determined, but most importantly selfless at heart; she always put others above herself and would help anyone she could. Shirley enjoyed playing Bingo and slot machines. She loved casino trips to Vegas and West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dustin Adkins; four children, Michelle (Curt) Fife, Pam Sturgill, Dustin Jr. (Tiffany) Adkins and Chris Adkins; 10 grandchildren, Curtis Jr., Shelby (Logan Bachmann), Ashley, Jacob, Zachary, Haley, Aaliyah, Camron, Colt and Peyton; and brother-in-law, Gary Adkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daniel Eaton.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
