Sarah Janet "Janie" Phillips, 79, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born July 19, 1940 in Princeton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Georgia Evelyn (Bates) Mosier.
A homemaker, Janie, as she was called, has been a Mansfield resident since the age of 5 living in the same home for 60 years. She was a sweet and caring person who loved being around her family especially her children and grandchildren. Janie was an avid Beenie Baby collector and she loved to cook and watch the Food Network, country music and hummingbirds. She also enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives and General Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Tony Phillips (Barbara Sims); her grandsons, Michael Starcher and Cody Phillips; her granddaughter, Katie Phillips (Robert Wolfe); her sister, Shirley Albers; her brother, Jerry Mosier; her niece, Stephanie Albers; and her daughters-in-law, Debra Phillips (Deb Farley) and Brenda Phillips.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Phillips and two sons, Terry Phillips and Ronald Phillips.
There will be no services at this time. Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family of Janie Phillips.
