Richard Risser

Rick was a 1962 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, graduated from Ashland College in 1968 with a degree in Political Science, and attended graduate school in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in college, Rick was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.

Rick was retired as a Real Estate Appraiser. Rick was active in many local organizations; a past scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 131 in Lexington, a longtime member of the Lexington Kiwanis Club, and longtime member of The First Congregational Church. He was also an avid reader, investor, and bridge player.

Rick is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Erika Risser; grandchildren, Lauren and William Risser; sister, Jane A. Risser of Palo Alto, California; and nephews, Rafael, Matthew, and Martin Solari of Palo Alto, California. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert C. Risser.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at The First Congregational Church, 640 Millsboro Road, Mansfield on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Richard Risser Scholarship Fund in care of The Lexington Kiwanis Club, PO Box 3124, Lexington, OH 44904 or the Betty D. Risser Fund, in care of The Richland County Foundation, 24 West Third Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
