Richard "Dick" Francis Casey

Richard "Dick" Francis Casey, of Mansfield, was called home to his Savior during the morning of Thursday, May 24, 2018. At the time of his death from natural causes, he was a resident of Ontario with his wife of 51 years, Ruth. Dick recently celebrated his 86th birthday, he was born December 17, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the son of Richard and Mary (Moriaty) Casey.

Dick was a wonderful husband and father. Dick moved to Ohio in 1982 from Boston and has lived here since. He was devoted to his volunteer work with the Ontario Lions Club, OhioHealth Hospital, then Med Central, Kingwood, and the Renaissance Theater. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Langille) Casey of Ontario; daughter, Susanne (Larry Herrett) Casey of Westerville; sons, Rick (Nichole) Casey and Jeff (Stacey) Casey both of Ontario; grandchildren, Tyler Casey of Lexington, Tanille (Josh) Ingle of Solon, Takoda Pratt, Lillian Casey and Grayson Casey of Ontario; sister, Mary (Casey) Benson of Brighton, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Joe Benson.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 am. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Dick was generous to others and was dedicated to volunteering, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Ontario Lions Club, 3777 Park Avenue West Ontario, Ohio 44906 or St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 West First Street Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
