Paul Donald Hardy, 81, of Mansfield, went home to the Lord Thursday afternoon, November 7th, 2019, at his home. Paul was born September 13, 1938 in Sciotoville, Ohio, moving to the Mansfield area when he was nine years old.
Paul, also known as Don or Hard Rock to his coworkers at AK Steel, retired in 1993. Paul enjoyed traveling, watching Nascar, his favorite driver Jeff Gordon win, playing pool, going to the Smokey Mountains, and anything to do around water, especially fishing.
Survived by his daughter, by choice, Rebecca Jo Sovine; her children, Aaron, Zeno, Alex, Jack; her grandchildren; her siblings; their grandchildren and great grandchildren; his cousins, Jim (Jackie) Ramey, Cathy (Ramey) (Ray) Whatman; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Bearnice Hardy; and longtime friend, Carol S. Milum.
Preceded in death by his only biological son, Donald Dwayne Hardy, January 5th, 2015; his brothers, Billy and Ted Hardy; his parents, Raymond T. Hardy, Richard and Hattie Ferguson; and niece Kristine Hardy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Monday.
