She was born January 15, 1952 in Mansfield, Ohio to Vernard and Elizabeth J. Hampton.She graduated from Madison High School Class of 1970. Pamela worked at Westinghouse. Her favorite activities were mushroom hunting, walking her dogs, dancing, reading, pool and darts. She was a member of the VFW post 3494. She married John T. Gatton in September of 1972, had a son, John Paul and a daughter, Jennifer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernard Hampton, sister, Carolyn Hampton, and husband, Randy Rice.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, three brothers, Tom (Jane), Paul (Tonya) and Jon (Cynthia, her son, John Paul (Sherry) Gatten, grandkids, Danielle, Julia, Trinity and Nicolas, daughter, Jennifer (Joseph) Zartman, grandkids, Dakota, Savanna and Dylan, her close friend, Tom Mess, and will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is also survived by her 5 beloved dogs, Murphy, Lizzie, Stupid, Betsy and Whitey and two cats, Fat Cat and Puss Puss.
There will be no public viewing, but family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Benefit Service which will be held at the VFW 3494 on August 29, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. to help cover expenses. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be mailed to 670 Fleetwood Road, Mansfield, OH 44905.
