Opal Arnett

Born August 20, 1933 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ed and Gleedie (Walters) Burton. She retired from Sprint/Century Link where she was a supervisor and enjoyed conversations and talking on the phone. Always laughing and smiling, Opal loved camping, traveling and anywhere near the water. She also enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and growing sand terrariums.

She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Bob Hawk of Florida; three sons, Darrel (Peggy) Arnett of Mansfield, Dan (Sandy) Arnett of Mansfield and Don (Rachel) Arnett of Clarksville, TN; three grandchildren, Scott (Christa) Arnett, Damon Arnett and Christian Arnett; and three great grandchildren, Morgan, Page and Elli Arnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Arnett and two sisters, Audrey Gay Burton Carty and Ella May Burton.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Drive, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Vernon Smith and Rev. Larry Collins. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
