Nancy Ellen Mabry Stamper Rice, 82, of Mansfield died early Tuesday morning, August 7, 2001 at her home. She was born February 5, 1919, in White Lake, Wisconsin to Willie J. and Anna Leadingham Mabry. She was employed in the bead room of Mansfield Tire for 10 years. Mrs. Rice loved country music; she was a singer/songwriter who played several instruments. She was part of the duet, the Mabry Sisters, along with her sister, Minnie.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Whitey Rice; two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Denver Waggoner of Olive Hill, KY, and Drema and Allen Santamont of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Carolyn Stamper and Ronald and Janie Stamper all of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Sherman and Theodore Waggoner and Ladina Leadingham all of Olive Hill, KY, Ronald Stamper of Killeen, TX, Kirk and Keith Stamper of Mansfield, and Kevin Stamper of Mt. Gilead; three sisters, Vada Fieffer and Minnie Sagraves both of
Morehead, KY, and Elvena McCabe of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Anna Mabry, daughter, Darlene Stamper and son Raymond 'Bubby' Rice, sisters Elizabeth Sagraves and Vesta Marie Mabry, and brothers, Dee Mabry, Robert Mabry, and Ora Mabry,
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday, August 9 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Friday at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Norman E. Rice of Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park
