Kelly Smith Ludwig, 53, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born July 10, 1962, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was an area resident her entire life.
She graduated from Madison High School and worked at Follett Campus Bookstore as an assistant manager for over 15 years. Kelly was very loving, caring and had a vibrant personality. Her family was her pride and joy and she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Coming in a close second to her family, were any and all animals. Kelly's passion was rescuing strays and ensuring they were properly cared for and loved.
Kelly is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Ludwig; four daughters, Cassandra (Nate) Ganzhorn, Jacinda Ludwig (Justin Bochnak), Angelica (Mark) Brokaw and Samantha (Jacob) Kessler; nine adorable grandchildren, Morgan, Nathan and Gavin Ganzhorn, Hunter Bochnak, Aubrie and Austin Brokaw, Carter, Casen and Emersyn Kessler; and her parents, Robert and Cheryl (Weidner) Smith. Kelly is also survived by a brother, Scott (Cindy) Smith; a sister, Stacey (Dana) Messer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Peggy Ludwig; Robert's five brothers and sisters including Judy (Randy) Campbell; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles; and several very close friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Virginia and Milton Weidner; and paternal grandparents, Ralph and Mae Smith.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Tim Knoppe and Phil McClenathan will conduct the service.
