Henry "Hank" N. Dotson, 80, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield. He was born May 13, 1935 in Virginia to Rev. Earl Dotson and Rosa (Horne) Dotson. A patriotic man who loved his country, Hank was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War era. Hank retired in 1989 as a Master Sergeant with the Ohio Air National Guard 179th Airlift Wing where he was an aircraft mechanic. He was an avid antique tool collector and was a member of The Ohio Tool Collectors, The Mid-West Tool Collectors, The Buckeye Iron Will Machinery Club (Richland County), The Yesteryear Machinery Club (Ashland County), The Harley Owners Group (HOG), and the NRA. A very Godly man, Hank was a partner with the Wayside Temple and the C.B.M. Ministries.
He is survived by his son, Eric Dotson of Mansfield; daughter, Angela Dotson of Mansfield; grandson, Kyle Dotson of Mansfield; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Allen) Roy of Virginia, Judy Nuchols of Florida, Linda (Carlos) Cooke of Virginia, Mildred Moore of Tennessee, and Sheila Yuastella of Massachusetts; brothers-in-law, Larry (Charlotte) Absher and James (Gretta) Absher, both of Tennessee, and Eddie Absher of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Absher) Dotson; brothers, Gene and Emory Dotson; sisters, Francis Dotson Bates and Mary Dotson Belamy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Mark Barth. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside services provided by the 179th Airlift Wing will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
