Edith Marie Mallory, 77, of Mansfield, died Thursday, January 17, 2008, at Mifflin Care Center. Born January 31, 1930, in Garrison, KY, she was the daughter of James Benjamin and Liddie Jane Bevins Brooks. She was a 10-year member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield. Edith loved to collect mini antique cars, angels and mini teacups. She had a special way to make people laugh with her storytelling about her life. She also loved to talk about her love for the Lord. She was a very giving person who loved to share with others things that she received.
Surviving are a son Mark E. Lorretta G. Mallory of Dyersburg, TN; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Buster Mallory both of Columbus; a great grandchild, Micah Mallory of Columbus; four brothers Harry Opal Brooks of Dover, KY, Wendell Helen Brooks of Erving, KY, George Norma Brooks of Manchester, OH and William "Bill" Brooks of Cleveland, OH; four sisters, Nowanna Virgil Bisotti of Maysville, KY, Anna Paul Gray of Lewisburg, KY, Shirley Elmer Burton of Maysville, KY and Virginia Ora Webb of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mallory; a son, Dewey Mallory; a daughter, Patsy; a sister, Nancy Johnson; three brothers, Amos, Charles and James Brooks; and her parents.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2008, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Pastor Randy Raynes. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.
