Dorothy M. Hughes

Dorothy M. Hughes, 79, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born November 3, 1939 in Shoaf, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Olinto and Josephine (Franco) George.

A homemaker, Dorothy was a loving, outgoing and generous person who could talk to anyone. She enjoyed Bingo, crossword puzzles and garage sales where she found many bargains. Dorothy loved to cook and was known for her lasagna. She loved her family dearly and would do anything she could for them.

She is survived by her children, Marvin (Bobbie) Hughes of Pennsylvania, Ronald (Sharon) Hughes of Ashland, Stephen Hughes of Mansfield, Charles (Holly) Hughes of Hamilton and Gina (Robert) Thomas of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Ronnie Hughes, Lisa Mazzotta, Dolly Hughes, Jessica Hughes, Haley Hughes, Stephen Hughes, Jr., Travis Hughes, Joshua Prendergast and Stonie Butler; seven great grandchildren, Abigail, Grace, Noah, Daniel, Hunter, Damien and Malakai; siblings, Frances George, Madeline (Stanton) Conley, Delores Weiler, Evelyn George, Charles (Cindy) George and Albert McCann; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Hughes; two brothers, Emil George and Forrest George; and a brother-in-law, Robert Weiler.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
