Danny McClain

Danny was born and raised in Shelby. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was employed as a tool and die machinist. Danny attended Paradise Freewill Baptist Church where he was greatly loved by everyone there. He had a heart of gold and was certainly always willing to help others. Talented in many ways, Danny was crafty and very much a handy man. He enjoyed playing cards, UNO, and loved harness racing. Danny adored superman but to many, he was their superman.

Danny leaves behind a son, Danny McClain Jr.; step-daughter, Kim Blanton; granddaughters, Desiree and Presley; siblings, Donna (Gary) Blanton, Diana Mabe, Randy McClain, and Rhonda (Lee) Johnson; many nieces and nephews including his caretakers, Dorothy (Douglas) Oyster, Douglas Jr., Mason, Curtis, Alisha (Stephen) Clay Jr., Cyntara, Bri, and T.J.; and many friends. Danny was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S Diamond Street. Pastor Jay Hill will officiate the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Military honors will be performed immediately following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paradise Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.
