She was born November 14, 1932, in Mansfield, to Martha P. (Hutzelman) and Kenneth K. Hammett. Carol was an enthusiastic class member of Mansfield Senior High, graduating class of 1950.
She was a member of First Christian Church. Carol spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. Throughout the years, her son Jim was at her side as they cared and supported each other to the end.
Carol is survived by her three sons, Fred (Mariann) McFarland, Jim McFarland and Jeff McFarland; three grandchildren, Rebekah (Jeremy) Davis, Andrew (Katie) McFarland and Sarah (Matt) Jacobs; five great-grandchildren, Luke and Matthew Davis, Ellie and Graham McFarland, and Janie Jacobs; sister-in-law Nancy Kindinger of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Edward Hammett; her parents; her husband, Wayne G. McFarland who passed in 1987; and longtime special friend Jack Dias who passed in 2023.

Family and friends are welcome at First Christian Church, 200 W. Third Street, Mansfield, Ohio between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024. A private graveside service will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park. Wappner Funeral Directors – Mansfield is honored to serve the family.
