Michael Francis Pollock, 77, of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus in Lakewood. He was surrounded by loving family members. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mike was a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers growing up, sharing many happy memories at Dodgers Stadium with family and friends.
Michael has 2 daughters, Christine and Lisa, from his first marriage to Joyce Burgos, as well as a stepson, Phil Patti. During his long and varied career, Michael was an oil salesman consecutively for Cirillo Bros., Whaleco, and Petro; owned a greeting card store; and was an insurance salesman for John Hancock Insurance. He was a very diligent worker.
Shortly after his second marriage to Roseann Raver-Blume in 1994 he moved from Brooklyn to Staten Island, where he worked as a bus driver with Reliance Bus Company. He and his wife worked together (she as a bus matron) transporting children with special needs. Following retirement, Michael continued his favorite hobbies of creating beautiful stained glass artwork; taking excellent scenic and artistic photos for his own enjoyment and various camera clubs, and making great barbecue for backyard celebrations and lobster tails and other seafood for Christmas Eve dinner. He and his wife Roseann moved to Manchester this past July.
Predeceased by his parents John and Angeline Pollock and his brother-in-law William Burmeister, he is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Roseann; his two devoted daughters from his first marriage, Christine Pollock and Lisa Allen; their husbands, Daniel Weber and Kevin Allen; and adoring grandchildren including Vanessa and Kevin Allen Jr; and Robert, Ashley, and Justin Blume. Also surviving are his sisters, Ann Gagliardi and her husband William (their children Bill, Jen, and Melissa), Irene Burmeister (her daughter Karen and sons Ken and Kris), Grace Briguccia and her husband Joseph (their daughters Angela and Patricia), stepsons Phil Patti and Jeff Blume and wife Suzanne, and many other loving grandnieces and grandnephews. He will be sorely missed.
