Edward R. Novak, 88, of Manchester, NJ, passed away July 31, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he attended Elizabeth Public Grammar and High Schools. He was a member of the Pioneer Boys Club in Elizabeth Port and served on the executive board of the Boys Club. Edward served three years in the US Navy during WWII. He worked as a field engineer for the National Cash Register Co. and retired in 1986. Edward moved to Leisure Knoll in Manchester, where he was a member of various clubs including the Owls, the fishing club of which he was an officer for 8 years, Organ club, Men’s Golf Club, Music Tours, Theatre Club and the Lithuanian Club.
Edward was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Flynn Novak (1986). He is survived by his present wife of Dorothy Verdone Novak, whom he married in 1993, his sons Robert Novak of Howell, NJ and Michael Novak of Chicago IL, his stepdaughter Adrienne Verdone Wilson of Moorestown, NJ, and his five grandchildren, Jesse, Maura, David Nicole and Alexandra.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 3, 2012 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Saturday August 4, 2012 10 am with a Funeral Service to start at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edward’s memory the VFW.
