Born in Plainfield, he resided in Brooklyn, NY before settling in Whiting, NJ.
Clarence graduated from Piscataway High School in NJ. He attended The Berklee School of Music in Boston, MA.
Through his entire career, he was a musician, specializing as a trumpeter and flugelhornist. He recorded solo albums and has worked as a sideman with Tim Berne, Anthony Davis, Bill Frisell, George Gruntz, Paul Motian, Bobby Previte, and David Sanborn, Phil Haynes.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence C. Robertson, Sr. and Virginia V. Tedesco-Robertson.
Surviving are his loving siblings: Keith Robertson and his wife Patricia of Conroe, TX, Janice Berry and her husband William of Manchester NJ, Denise Toti of Toms River, NJ, several nieces and nephews.
