Norman R. Ducasse, 75, of Manchester, died July 28, 2015 at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Manchester on January 28, 1940 the son of George and Helen (Ouellette) Ducasse and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was educated in the local school system.
He was employed J.F. McElwain Shoe Co. with over 21 years of service and also worked in the maintenance department at the Raytheon Corporation. Following his retirement, Norman enjoyed volunteering at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a member of the Henry J. Sweeney Post #2 Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.). He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father.
He was predeceased by his brothers George Ducasse and Raymond Ducasse and by his sister Lorraine Leduc.
Members of his family include his loving wife of 50 years Carol (Heman) Ducasse and his daughter Pauline Ducasse both of Manchester as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday August 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday August 3 at 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church 172 Belmont St. Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Norman’s name be made to the American Cancer Society 2 Commerce Dr. Suite 110 Bedford, NH 03110.
