She was raised in East Boston and was educated in the local school system. Following her marriage in 1959 to Walter Blacker she resided in Somerville, MA for eleven years and relocated to Reading, MA for 20 years. She was employed in the cafeteria of Reading Memorial High School.
Mrs. Blacker moved to Manchester with her husband in 1997 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed bowling and solving crossword puzzles; the outdoors and mountains. Some of her favorite times were spent at the Nubble Lighthouse in York Beach, ME. Above all else she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter E. Blacker of Manchester; a son, Kevin Blacker and his wife Wendy of Henniker, NH; four daughters, Carole Picard and her husband Leo of Manchester, Margaret Blacker of Manchester, Christine Adcock and her husband George of Newton NH and Sandra Dion and her husband Matthew of Pembroke NH; seven grandchildren, Pamela Picard of Dover NH, Drew Picard of Manchester; Jacqui Blacker, Leanne Blacker and Devin Blacker, all of Henniker, Glenn Dion and Joshua Dion, both of Pembroke; a brother, Francis X. Bowser of Denver Co; two sisters, Rita Theodaroff and Kathleen House, both of Florida; nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Barbara Bowser and two brothers Richard Bowser and Charles Bowser.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, May 5th from 4 to 8 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Peter Church, 567 Manchester Rd., Auburn NH. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall St. #104, Manchester, NH 03101-1518.
