Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Morganville for many years before moving to Manalapan in 2008.
Prior to retiring 25 years ago, he was the President of the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Clearinghouse, New York City, for many years. He was a longtime softball umpire in Monmouth County and former Marlboro Softball Commissioner. He was also a member of the Marlboro Softball League and a former member of
Marlboro Jewish Center.
Son of the late Joseph and Ruth Branson, he will be forever missed by his loving wife Miriam, his children Barbara Branson Davidson, Susan Jacobs and her husband Mitchell, and Judi Wolinsky, his sister Ilene Branson, and his adored grandchildren: Dr. Tyler Jacobs, Brandon Jacobs, Sam Davidson, and Jaime Davidson.
He was predeceased by his brother David Branson.
Funeral services for Sidney will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ 07726.
Entombment will follow at Mount Sinai Cemetery Mausoleum, 374 Hwy 79, Marlboro, NJ 07751.
The Period of Mourning will be observed at the Residence of Susan and Mitchell Jacobs on Sunday and Monday from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM.
