We sadly share the passing of our mother and grandmother, Lydia Carnesale, aged 95, on December 7, 2023. She passed peacefully with her daughter and son by her side. Lydia would have turned 96 on January 26th.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels located at 44 Wilson Avenue (Route 527 North) ** Phone:732-446-4242. PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE FUNERAL HOME 12:15-12:30pm. The service will begin promptly at 1pm. **Note on directions: GPS will direct you to turn onto Burke Road for the parking and entrance. The location is Manalapan, NJ 07726, but might come up as Englishtown.
Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive (off Highway No. 1), Woodbridge, NJ 07095. At the cemetery, cars will be directed to line up at the office for the burial.
Shiva will begin following the burial at the home of Randy and Sue Gottesman, 11 Inverness Lane, East Windsor, NJ 08520. There will be a minyan Sunday night at 8:00pm. Shiva will continue Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm (Minyan at 8:00pm).

Lydia is survived by her daughter Deborah Corbett (Chris) and son Randall Gottesman (Sue), grandchildren Lisa Levin (Dan), Geoffrey Corbett (Michelle), Lauren Gottesman, and Amy Mandell (Carl), and great-grandchildren Lila and Jonah Corbett, Benjamin and Brooke Levin, and Carter Mandell, as well as other cherished family members.
She was predeceased by her former spouse Solomon Gottesman in July 1988, her husband Joseph Carnesale, in January 2020, and her sisters Sylvia Vermut, Regina Lobel, and Henrietta Saltzman.
