Harold Cohen beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away quietly on Friday, July 8th, 2022 in Freehold New Jersey. Harold was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 6, 1923. Harold was predeceased by his wife Diana (Rosenblum) Cohen in 2015. Harold is survived by his devoted son, Dr. Gary Cohen and daughter in law Dr. Marsha Rubin Cohen of NY, NY and his daughter Lori Cohen Vogel of Jensen Beach, Florida and his cherished grandchildren Adam Vogel, Matthew Vogel, Jessica Cohen and Philip Cohen.
Harold was an Indiana Native and graduated from Butler University. He operated a retail store in Indianapolis before moving his family to New Jersey. He had multiple business's and ended his career working in the accounting industry. Harold was a diehard Yankees Fan and could identify every Jewish baseball player who played on their team and their position on the field.
Harold was immersed in the Jewish Community and his Congregation - "Sons of Israel" Temple community. He was awarded “Man of the Year” by his Temple in July 1996 and was instrumental in ensuring there was always a minyan at the temple for all families to say Kaddish for their loved ones. He was always available to assist with Temple activities including Bingo.
Harold was a lifelong practical joker and loved to make people smile and laugh. He often-had nick names for people including Buddy Hackett. He loved patting us on the head and messing up our hair. He spent his life lovingly patting people’s heads and referring to them as “Luch in Cup” which meant "hole in the head".
Harold lived a long life and will be missed by his children, grandchildren and his many family members and friends.
