Gertrude (née Bilder) Sherman, 100, of Freehold, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Born in New York City to Samuel and Minnie Bilder, she was the beloved wife of the late Emanuel Sherman; devoted mother of Kenneth (Susan) and David (Stefanie) Sherman; and grandmother of Marc (Lindsey Gaston), Amy, and Juliane Sherman.
Gertrude resided in Neptune, NJ for many years before moving to Freehold, NJ. Gertrude worked as a civilian support staff member in both the Personnel and Procurement offices of the US Army at Camp Evans and Fort Monmouth.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 1 pm at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Temple Beth El Cemetery in Neptune, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the League of Women Voters or The Jewish National Fund.
