Our family were patients of Dr. Brandt for over 25 years. If not for his diagnosis my father would have not reached his 100th birthday. My dad passed away in January but always spoke very fondly of Dr. Brandt. We are very sorry to learn of his passing. May he Rest In Peace.

I worked with David for the  last 22 years and he will be greatly missed by myself and the whole staff. We want to wish the whole Brandt family our  sincere condolences.

Dave was part of a very special group of friends who have known each other, and been close to one-another for nearly 50 years.    I have such fond memories of growing up with Dave, and vivid memories of the time when, at a very young age he had to look after his mom, and manage her Dialysis treatments.  Despite having to grow up a lot faster than the rest of us, Dave was always a special part of our group.  Unfortunately, we drifted apart over the years, but I could always count on a phone call, an email or a text on my birthday.  That was our unique connection, and something I will always treasure.  Rest in peace my friend.  You were a special person in life, and someone who will be fondly remembered by all who loved you...in other words, everyone!

We were immensely saddened to hear of David's passing.  Please accept our sincerest condolences.  David was one of the finest  people we had the privilege of knowing.  He was a true gentleman, a generous man, a man of enormous compassion and goodness who will be missed by all who knew him.

Dave was a kind and gentle sole, my very closest of friends growing up on “the rock”, and by circumstance, serious from a young age (his service as a trusted and caring physician was a natural).  An intensely devoted family man, he seemed (to me at least) happiest enjoying the simple pleasures of life and love, our intense tennis matches, joint long suffering  support of the Mets and Knicks,  and in our youth, endless conversation related to dating!  David was above all else, a mensch in every sense of the word, always willing to do anything for his “circle”.   I will dearly miss his smile, good humor, and long lasting friendship.   Rest easy my brother...a piece of you is in all of our hearts.


Dear Nancy and the wonderful Brandt family. David was one of my best childhood friends and one of the kindest souls anyone could ever know. Our hearts break for your tragic loss. My mom was very close to David's beloved mom, Quetta and grandmother, and of course, we all knew the Brandt family very well growing up and spending so much time with him. I know him, above all else, as a very devoted family man to all of you and he was very proud of his sons. He left this world a better place and truly made a difference. I don't know where to begin. I've known David since I'm 10. My first memories are of us playing baseball, David making sure his hair was perfect, doing a (bad) Fonz immitation, and being with him and Len Oremland while he did dialysis for his mom.

I remember when David asked out Nancy and decided to go to Guadalahara to become a Doctor. He was a tremendous part of my teen years, always making a joke, providing advice or being a good friend.  He probably grew up faster than anyone I know and I'm very proud of his accomplishments and family. He helped set what "a good man" is defined as for me.

He didn't have the easiest life, but he was a wonderful giving person that I am so much better for having known. I'm totally broken up about this. May he rest in peace, he will always be in my prayers.
