Ross John Olcott Sr.

Ross was born July 28, 1945 in California on Edwards Air Force Base and was raised in Hazlet, NJ by his parents Roscoe and Marie (Dsurney) Olcott.

In his teenage years, he worked at a Stewart’s Hot Dog Stand, where he met the love of his life, June Ellen (McGrath). They later married and raised three children in Barnegat, NJ

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Ross worked for many years as a Warehouse Manager for W.W. Henry, from where he retired.

Ross enjoyed playing golf and flying his model planes. He was best known for his charming wit and always being up for a debate. Above all else, the times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren were his happiest times. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all.

Ross is now reunited with his wife, June Ellen who predeceased him in 1989. He is survived by his loving children; Ross Olcott, Jr and his wife Kathleen; Suzanne Olcott Henry and her husband Thomas and Pastor Steve Olcott and his wife Corinne. He is also survived by grandchildren; Aidan, Finn, Colin, Stephen, Jessica, Amber, Clara and Elizabeth and great grand daughter Kaia. He will also be remembered by his brother Robert and his nephew Douglas.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A funeral home service will be held 11:00am on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with burial to follow at Barnegat Memorial Cemetery, 742 W. Bay Ave, Barnegat, NJ

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ross’s name may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
