Ron King, 94, of Beach Haven, passed away peacefully in his family's care on Good Friday, April 14, 2017. Born in Lakewood, NJ to Sophie (Marshall) and A. Paul King, and raised with the help of Gertrude. Ron was an Accountant with AT&T, a proud WWll Veteran who served in the Navy and was stationed during the War in Hawaii and Samoa. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Pop Pop, Uncle, and Son. Ron was a Graduate of Barnegat High School and of St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.
Ron lived in Beach Haven for most of his life and as far as he was concerned, he was a lifelong resident. After his marriage to Rosemary, they moved to Medford Lakes and then to Basking Ridge, NJ where he continued his career with AT&T. Ron wrapped up his lengthy career from climbing the poles for NJ Bell to completion of the AT&T Anti-trust Case in the World Trade Center, NY. After his retirement, he took over the managing of the Tennis Courts in Beach Haven as he like to play tennis and then ran the Art Print Store in the Mall in Beach Haven. He was also talented as a jeweler and could design and make jewelry.
Ron loved sailing his sailboat the "Dulcinea", and he enjoyed traveling across the country In his Winnebago and yearly trips to Florida, as well. He thoroughly enjoyed reading mystery novels and watching the Westerns daily. Ron was a lifelong member of the Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Company #1. He looked forward to attending the annual Fireman's dinner and his Barnegat High School Reunion.
Ronald is survived by his children, Carole Trakimas, Jay Sherman (Vicki), Sandra Sirolly (C.T.), Arlinda (King) Crossley(Bob), Rosemary Walsh (John), Rhonda (King) Harper (William Reader), Randall Provoost, Kim (King) Daly (Sam). He is survived by additional family members; Bruce, Johnny,Mickey, Steven, Kathy, Joanne, Michele, and Christie King; 31 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grand Children.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that Donations be made in their Dad's name to the Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Company #1.
SERVICE DETAILS: CALLING HOURS: SATURDAY, APRIL 22, 2017 10:30AM-11:30AM AT ST FRANCIS CHURCH, 4700 LONG BEACH BLVD., BRANT BEACH.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE CHURCH ON SATURDAY AT 11:30AM.
BURIAL WILL BE PRIVATE AT THE REQUEST OF THE FAMILY.
