Richard Froumy 79 born on September 21, 1931 in Orange, New Jersey. Richard passed away Tuesday July 19, 2011 in the presence of his beloved wife Marie and family. A very intelligent and creative man, he enjoyed writing poetry and was host of cable TV’s “50 and Up”. An Alexis DeToqueville award winner, who also served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict and played basketball for the Fort Monmouth Champion-ship basketball team. President of the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, member of the Lions Club, and owner of FLM Business Machines (a publicly traded company) and Point Pleasant typewriter company. He loved ocean views, summer sunsets, bike riding, bowling and playing pool.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie and seven children, Rick, Jerrie Renee, Michael, Thomas, John and Ronald. 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Buddy and John Froumy.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the “Alzheimer’s Association.
Visiting will be at the Thos L. Shinn FH, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin NJ 08050 on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral Mass on Monday 11:00 AM @ St. Mary of the Pines, Manahawkin and Entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin, NJ
