Mary "Kathy" Smith, 63, of Barnegat, died Friday, March 1, 2013 in Honolulu, HI. Born in Newark, she moved to Barnegat in 1974. Kathy was a wonderful mother and housewife. She loved to travel and go to the beach where she watched her family surf. She was an animal lover who loved her dogs, feeding her birds, and her squirrel Buddy. She was a green thumb who enjoyed tending to her gardens.

Kathy was predeceased in death by parents, Betty and Gary; and brother, Gary. Surviving are her sister, Annise of Point Pleasant; brother, Bobby and wife Rosetta of Parsippany; sons, Wayne Smith and wife Patricia of Holmdel, Thomas Smith and wife Christina of Little Egg Harbor, and Gary Smith of Barnegat; daughter, Alanna Fodor and husband Jonathon of Manahawkin, as well as three grandchildren, Justin, Allison, and Hailey. Plus many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 8 at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Entombment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Manahawkin.
