Georgette K Kearney

She was the daughter of the late Mary and William Kearney. Georgette was predeceased by her brothers Eddie Kearney and Joseph Kearney, her Aunt Katty (Katherine) and her Uncle Victor Funicello who took care of Mimi and her mom for many years as well as her two nephews, Joseph Kearney (Joey Boy) and Mark Kearney.

She is survived by her cousins Carol (Funicello) and David Opauski, who Mimi lived with for many years, her cousins Charlene Opauski, Donna Opauski, Katie Opauski, Gina Opauski,

Sara (nee Opauski) and her husband Michael Vassallo, Victoria Logan Becker, Branden Opauski and his wife Cindy and their daughter Vyra, Kaitlyn Opauski and her children Hunter and Greyson, and Cousin Cody Opauski. She is also survived by her niece Patty Kearney-Rogers and Michael Kearney.

Mimi lived in Newark, NJ with her mom before moving to Edison, NJ. She then moved to Manahawkin with her mom and lived near her Aunt Katherine and Uncle Victor.

Mimi loved her cat, Sassy. She loved to crochet and being around kids. She especially loved to watch television. Her favorite singer was Elvis Presley. Mimi loved to talk with people and give them her recipes that she had copied from magazines or books. She enjoyed her daily walks to Cumberland Farms and Wawa. She enjoyed Patriot, her personal therapy dog who would visit her in the nursing home. She loved all her dog friends when she lived at home.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 pm on Thursday. Burial will be held 12:30 pm on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ.
