She was preceded in death by her father and Mother, Edward and Thelma Brown; husband, Rev. Bobby Cochran; son, Ronnie Cochran; grandsons, Thomas Proctor, Wesley Sparks; brothers, Johnny Mack Brown, Gary Brown, Tommy Brown; and sisters, June Zakas and Susie Landers.
Delores Cochran was born September 27, 1932, at Ward, West Virginia. She retired from Kanawha County Schools in West Virginia and York County Schools in York, South Carolina, where she served on the environmental and custodian service teams. She was loved by all the children. They often called her Maw Maw. She was a loving pastor’s wife in the Church of the Nazarene where she taught boys and girls about the love of Jesus. She will be remembered for her love of the teens, but most of all she loved Jesus.
She is survived by her seven children, Lou Bender (Henry) of Amma, Kathy Sparks of Rand; Julie Hudson (Dewayne) of Rand, Mike Cochran (Carla) of Rand, Teresa “Jeannie” Burdette (Jeff) of Rand, Lynn Cochran of York, South Carolina and Sandy Cochran of Sunset Beach, South Carolina. She was a Maw Maw Honey to 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Jimmy Brown, who was dear to her heart and many nieces and nephews who she loved very much.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice for the help and support they gave to the family during this time.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastors Gordon Killion and Matthew Chapman and Dr. Rev. Mervin Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
