Mary Louise Reese

Mary was born on May 3, 1925 in Russellville, WV to Carmel L. Sr. & Hettie Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Reese; two sons, Shirley M. Elswick Jr. & Carl L. Reese; brothers, Dale & Carmel “JR” Wood Jr.; sister, Gnelda Workman and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Cannon.

She is survived by two daughters, Margie Hancock (Eddie) and Lois Beckwith & Fiancé, Jerry Collins all of Pratt; daughter-in-laws, Kaye Tyler of Cabin Creek and Gisele Elswick of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Delora Ratliff of Akron, OH; one sister-In-Law, Norma Wood of Newport News, VA.

Mary leaves behind grandchildren, Kristi Foster (Greg), Michael Jackson, Chris Hancock (Jessica), Brittany & Brooke Beckwith, Chad Tyler (Debbie), Tara Tyler, Dean Elswick & Jay Reese; great grandchildren, Briana Runnion (Ande), Megan Foster, Brandon “Boo” Foster, October Desjardins, Adriana Hancock, Michael Rogers, Brodie & Paislee Pettry, Wes Winnell, Kyrah & Eli Tyler.

Mary retired from Kanawha County Schools with 28 years of service and was a faithful member of Hernshaw United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday March 27, 2019 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Rev. Paul Coon officiating. Entombment will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.

A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday March 26, 2019 at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jagannath & Montgomery General Extended Care for the care they gave to Mary.
