From the very beginning of Luke’s lifetime to the end he was destined to be on the run. He was a ball of energy rolling anywhere and everywhere he could go. His love for gas powered vehicle lead him from riding to repairs. He was always on the run and there seemingly wasn’t enough to get into in a 24 hour period. He had a heart and head that caused him to always desire a business of his own. He never let anything go. He followed his heart and was able to have several businesses of his own. He had a big dream and lots of energy. He was a great entrepreneur. Whatever broke down he could fix it. He was always working on someone else’s vehicle because he loved to help others. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He worked on anything with a motor and loved to take everything apart and then put it back together again piece by piece. He loved to hear that engine roar and smell that smoke as it wafted thru the air. He loved anything with an engine and wheels. Don’t really know why he cared so much about the wheels. It may have four wheels or it may have two wheels but it didn’t matter as long as he had one wheel. Most of the time when we saw the evidence it pretty much proved he only needed one. And the fact he usually only needed one also meant he hit the ground many times. He collected a bit of hardware over the years too. A few nuts and bolts and he was connected back together. To his last day he carried blacktop buried in his skin. Did that slow him down, not one bit.
He loved his boys and nothing made him happier than to have times talking with them. Everyone pretty much hyped about the same things. He loved to ride a dirt bike and mastered doing that. He was a go getter and never missed an opportunity to take a cycle ride.
As he grew older, things changed. Not much time for playing but more time for working. He loved a good laugh but he could get very serious too. He loved being around a crowd. If you needed anything he’d do whatever he could to help. Luke had a tender heart and a caring heart. He was a very affectionate man.
Luke will be missed terribly by those he was close to. If he was your friend you had a great friend. If you never knew Luke you missed out on having a true friend. We loved him dearly and he may be absent from us but he will never be forgotten. His absence when you pull in at the house, you cannot avoid it. Luke also loved to cook. He threw a few things in a pot and he would serve a very nice meal.
Luke is survived by his children, Blake Allen Hunter, Cameron Hunter and Ian Allen Hunter; parents, Mark and Patricia Hunter; brother, Mark Allen Hunter. He was greatly loved by Pawpaw and Mawmaw Hunter.
