Doug was born and raised in Charleston. He graduated Charleston High School in 1967 and joined the US Air Force. He enlisted in the West Virginia State Police in 1969 and retired at the rank of Captain after 31 years of service. He then served as a US Court Security Officer at the Robert C Byrd Federal Courthouse in Charleston for about 10 years.
Beas was a man of integrity and honor, who gave of himself selflessly to others. He was highly respected by many, many people.
Beas was a charter member of the Blue Knights West Virginia 1 Law Enforcement Motorcycle Organization and a former instructor with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and hanging out with his buddies.
He was a proud Husband, Father, PaPa, and a loyal friend.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Rushel Beasley; and sister, Joyce Holstion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years and best friend, Marsha Beasley; fur babies Daisy and Rex; daughter, Joanna Johnson of Clendenin; son, Doug Beasley II and wife Teri of Pinch; grandchildren, Ryan Beasley, Libby Johnson, and Wyatt Johnson; brother, Jimmy Beasley Sr.; and sister, Francie Beasley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the funeral home.
