Brenda resided in Rand, West Virginia, most of her life. She was born the daughter of retired Air Force Sergeant Charles M. Tolley and Rosealie A. Bowles Tolley of Rand, West Virginia, November 5, 1960, both of whom preceded her in death. She was born in Tachikawa Japan while Charles was on assignment with the United States Air Force.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dalton N. (Skip) Hudnall Jr., sons, Justin Dalton Hudnall of Rand, West Virginia and Joshua Charles Hudnall (Racheal) of Charleston, West Virginia; daughter, Erin Elizabeth Hudnall-Gunnoe (William); her beloved grandchildren, Dillon Mathew Casto-Hudnall (Deceased), Emily Samples, Skylar Hudnall, Trinity Hudnall, Josie Dillard, Amaya Hudnall, Adeline Gunnoe, Tristin Mullenax, Chloe Price; her cousins, Eddie Tolley (Libby) of Burning Springs West Virginia, Patrick McKenzie (Marsha) of Seattle, Washington, Michelle McKenzie Morris (Bill) of Columbus, Ohio, and Sharon K. Brenda attended Rand Elementary School, DuPont Junior High School and DuPont High School where she formed lifelong friendships that have endured her entire life. Among her many wonderful accomplishments she was Miss Football at DuPont Jr. High, in the homecoming court of DuPont High. Her gifted first soprano voice was chosen to appear in the All County and All State Choruses. Her gifted singing blessed the ears of so many as she continued to sing in church choirs, including Truth Baptist Church, her home church at the time of her passing.
Brenda is remembered as a beautiful, loving wife, (Skip always claimed “I married over my head”), a mother whose fierce love and prayerful dedication saw her children through their most difficult times. Her love for her grandchildren was evident in every conversation and action towards them. Brenda was an avid gardener whose beautiful flower gardens are admired by every passerby. She was the truest kind of friend as evidenced in the love and care they have showered upon her through her long battle with cancer. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for them all. Most of all, Brenda Joy, will be remembered as an encourager who had the gift of helping so many through their struggles in life.
