Tannis Cherie Campbell, 72, of West Springfield, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
Born in Alexandria, May 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Raymond L. (Kirk) Campbell and Aurelia P. (Rita) Campbell. Tannis was retired from the Mary Riley Styles Public Library after almost 40 years of service. She loved to read and was lucky to have one of her favorite hobbies as a core element of her career. As a former student, she was an avid fan of Florida State football, as well as being a fan of the Washington Football Team. She enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as traveling and spending time at the beach with family.
She is survived by her sister, Tina Campbell of West Springfield, her beloved cats Max and Pan and a number of wonderful cousins and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, LTC (Ret) Paul D. Kelley.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 at the funeral home.
