Michael Joseph Provencher passed away on July 15, 2024, in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 05, 1960, and adopted by his loving parents the late Donald and Elizabeth Provencher.
Michael graduated from Madison High School in 1978. Shortly after, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps for four years. Upon returning, he began his career at Manufacturers Bank, which later became Comerica Bank, dedicating 40 years to the institution until his retirement in September 2022.
In his free time, Michael was an avid bowler, achieving many 300 games. After undergoing a kidney and liver transplant, he was especially proud of his 800 series. He was also a passionate golfer who celebrated a few memorable hole in one's, and enjoyed many outings with family and friends throughout the years.
Above all, Michael treasured his family. His greatest title in life was being called papa. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and would do anything for them. With their love and support it motivated him to undergo cancer treatment. He will be truly missed by everyone he crossed paths with in life.
Michael was a Beloved Husband to Julie Provencher, and were so grateful to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on September 16th, 2023; Loving Father to Jason (Jaime) Provencher and Jenifer (Andrew) Bogue; Cherished Papa to Juliana and baby Drew, Andrew Jr.; Dearest brother to Christine (Jeffrey) White and Kathleen (Jeffrey) Borncamp; Dearest brother in law to Kathy Kline and Bob (Keri) Bright; Wonderful Uncle to Nicole (Avi), Justin, Lindsey, Aaron, Austin, Madeline and Courtney.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with Military Honors and Rosary at 7:00 PM at Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Rd., Madison Heights, Michigan 48071.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church, 2500 Twelve Mile Rd., Warren, Mi 48092.
Michael will be laid to rest Friday, July 26, 2024, privately with his family at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442
