Jeanne Corcoran Finn died peacefully Jan. 3, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She had been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. She was married to Edward John "Jack" Finn for 66 years, in a warm and loving relationship.
Jeanne raised four children, Alice, Edward, Mary, and Jerry. Today the family includes eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful parishioner at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Madison.
Jeanne earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Arts in English at Niagara University and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from St. John's University in recognition of her work with the inner-city poor.
Jacks' work required relocation to eight different localities the most recent of which were Niagara Falls, N.Y., Cleveland, Ohio and Madison. Jeanne packed up and established warm and beautiful homes in each location.
Jacks' work also required a great deal of travel and Jeanne would go along, when she could, in between her many activities. They enjoyed travel to North and South America, Europe and Asia.
The most memorable trip was on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2004, when they took the entire family to Ireland to connect with their heritage.
Jeanne's varied interests and remarkable talents led her in many directions. She was an accomplished playwright and interior designer and was employed as a newspaper reporter and English teacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, in St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy Street, Madison. Interment followed in West Cemetery, Madison. Please visit the site to sign the online guestbook and leave a tribute for the Finn family.
