William Osborn Goodson, 94, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 14, 2022 at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. John Irwin will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Macon Lions Club Charity, PO Box 13464, Macon 31208.
Mr. Goodson was born on February 9, 1928 in Milledgeville, Georgia, the son of the late Lindsay Andrew Goodson and Lillian Webb Goodson. He graduated from Georgia Military College and the University of Georgia. Mr. Goodson served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1947.
Mr. Goodson was employed with the Citizens and Southern National Bank for 38 years. He was very active in the business, social, civic and religious life of Macon and Bibb County. Mr. Goodson was a charter member of Riverside United Methodist Church and a member and past president of the Macon Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years of marriage, Dorothy "Jeanne" Culpepper Goodson. Mr. Goodson is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Leigh Goodson of Macon and Margaret Ann Boylan (Paul) of Bozeman, MT; two grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
