Virginia Anna Evans

Virginia Anna Evans, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 10:00 am until 12 noon at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry St. Burial will be private in Sylvania, Georgia. Virginia was born in Bridgewater, MA to Rev. King I. Evans and Kleo Hodges Evans. She grew up in Georgia, where her father was pastor of churches in several towns in Georgia. She was a graduate of Bessie Tift College in Forsyth, Carver School of Missions and Social Work in Louisville, KY, and the University of Louisville School of Nursing in Louisville. Her primary career was teaching in elementary schools in Thomaston, Brunswick, and Macon, but she was always active in church work with children and music, especially at Vineville Baptist Church for many years, prior to her illness.

Ginny is now released to a greater fulfillment of her life.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Jones, and her nephew, David Jones of Macon, and several cousins.
