Tim Grimes, 62, passed away on Wednesday, January 7. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 11 at 3 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Irwin and the Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Central Georgia Masonic Memorial Association will provide the services. The family will greet friends from 2 – 3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
Tim was born in McRae to A. B. and the late Charlotte Grimes. He was principal at Dry Branch Elementary for 21 years. Tim was a member of the Masons, Macon Lodge 5, President of the Central Georgia Masonic Memorial Association, the Scottish Rite and York Rite, and Past Master of several Macon Lodges.
Survivors include his father; wife, Louise, children, Ben Grimes and Lainee (Dan) Hudson; granddaughter, Charlotte Hudson; siblings, Ann Gatlin and Marion (Jim) Mann-Johnson, Paul (Maude) Grimes; and several nieces and nephews.
