Thomas "Tom" R. Park Sr.

Thomas “Tom” Reed Park, Sr., 85, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Shupe, the Rev. Mike Ketchum, and the Rev. Joseph Stock officiating. The family will meet friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Park was born in Auburndale, FL to the late Claud and Hazel Park. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen Ann McLure Park, son, Thomas Reed Park, Jr. and son-in-law, Jerry Liles. He grew up in Pulaski, TN and resided in Macon, GA since 1953. Mr. Park was a World War II Navy Veteran and was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and was a Mason.

He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Ann Liles of Macon, grandsons, Thomas Reed Park, III of Madison, AL, Shane (Lorie) Harper of Macon, sisters, Barbara McPherson, Corrinne (Joseph) Stock and Jane (Gordon) Cutler, brothers; Harry Park, Lawton (Evelyn) Park and John (LaRae) Park, caregiver and friend; Mary Taylor and his pet cat “Bright Eyes”.
