Thelma Brown Griffis, 91, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Visitation will be at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street from 5 until 7 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2014. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery (North Gate) Friday at 2:00 PM with Dr. Scott Nash officiating.
Thelma was born in Danville, GA. She was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service in Macon, GA. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Griffis; her sister, Corine Brown Jones and her brother, Paul Brown.
She is survived by her sons, Roy (Kathy) Griffis of Macon, GA, Rodney (Sherry) Griffis of Danville, GA; grandchildren, Katie Griffis of Macon, GA, Charlie (Rebekah) Griffis of Perry, GA, Kari, Becky, Matthew and Brad Griffis of Danville; great-grandchildren, Wilson, Martha and Margaret Griffis of Perry; brothers, Joe Brown and Milton Brown of Danville; several nieces and nephews.
