Tamara “Tami” Gay Booth, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 9, 2022. A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel Bass Road with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
Tami was born in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Thomas Rigsby and Margaret Huey Gay. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Rigsby Gay. Tami was a retired nurse with Medical Center of Central Georgia where she took care of those in need for thirty-six years. She was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Although Tami faced numerous medical issues, she made her family top priority attending sporting events, birthday parties and making everyone feel special. She was a devoted and loving wife, mom, Mimi, sister, aunt and a friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Tommy Booth of Macon, children, Josh (Joy) Booth of Macon, Katie (Rob) Ferguson of Kathleen, grandchildren, Caden Hodge, Rigsby Booth, Evie Booth, Maggie Cate Ferguson and Stelling Ferguson, sister, Kelly Gay Lewis of Macon, aunt, Betty Ann Brinkley, nieces, Jennifer Harbeson, Ashley Woodhouse, Grace Ann Morris and nephew, Zachery Whigham and several cousins.
