Suzanne Fuller

Sue is survived by her children, Michaela Fuller and Jeremy Fuller, her parents, James and Eugenia Farrar of Richmond, VA, and her sister, Sally Farrar and husband Peter of Amsterdam, NL. She also leaves behind many, many friends whose lives she touched throughout her own.

Sue was both tough as nails and fragile as a flower. A child of a diplomat, Sue moved often throughout her childhood, spending her formative years in Amsterdam, NL, but also living in Washington, D.C. and in Groton, MA. As a young adult, she moved back to the States where she attended the University of Maryland and Georgetown University.

Sue’s life took her on many journeys. She went from living as an American kid in Amsterdam, back to America for college life, to owning a restaurant as a young mother while managing a large retail store, and to running an enormous cellular business in its earliest days. She lived for many years in Richmond, VA, Greenville, NC, and Clemmons, NC before finding her final home in Macon, GA.

During her daughter’s school years at Stratford Academy, Sue was involved in most every way, including serving as a devoted and beloved swim coach. In her empty nest years, she returned to the service industry that she loved best, most recently as an adored presence at Fountain of Juice and Romo’s. Sue thrived on new experiences, the energy she got from her friends, and meeting new people, though her main passion that ran concurrently through all these adventures was her writing, most recently acting as a correspondent on American politics for an Amsterdam publication.

Above all else, Sue loved her children. Her years as a devoted, fun loving mother were her happiest. Her children were born a decade apart and both Missy and JJ had the genuine gift of her complete devotion and unconditional love. Both children adored their mother.

Due to her wishes, Sue will not have a traditional funeral as she did not have a traditional life. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her in the near future to toast to her, celebrate her all too brief time with us, and most importantly, laugh—because no one laughed like Sue. All details will follow.

Sue was one of a kind. She will be missed and remembered by so many.
