LIZELLA – Roselyn “Cookie” Parris Henry, 63, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Magoni will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to Wesley United Methodist Church, 4256 Hartley Bridge Road, Macon, GA 31216.
Born in Knoxville, TN, Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her father, Arthur L. Parris. She was a former pre-school teacher and was a devoted homemaker. Mrs. Henry was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was active in Relay for Life – American Cancer Society. She was an avid fan of NASCAR and Tennessee football.
Survivors include her husband, James “Mac” Henry of Lizella; her son, Brian Henry of Lizella; her daughter-in-spirit, Lisa Hendricks of Lizella; her beloved grandchildren, Sean Devenney and Kaitlyn Anne Devenney; her mother, Marie Parris of Knoxville, TN and her brother, Arthur L. Parris, Jr. of Knoxville, TN.
