Michael Blane Land, 56, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2021 in Augusta, Georgia. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2 o'clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, led by Rev. Eddie Wiggins. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 until 2 o'clock.
Mr. Land was born in Opelika, Alabama to Victoria Enfinger Land and the late Jimmy Owen Land, Sr. He was a graduate of Jones County High School and was currently working as a journeyman electrician for IBEW Local #1316 of Macon, Georgia. Michael enjoyed the simplest pleasures of life from sitting on the porch in his rocking chair and listening to the birds, to laughing and sharing stories with family. He loved John Wayne and old Westerns. He was rarely seen without his cowboy hat or his pistol. Michael was a man of strong faith, well versed and studied in the Bible. A self proclaimed "rare and dying breed" of man, Michael had a big heart and touched those fortunate enough to know him. He believed in fulfilling promises made and staying true to your faith and values. Michael's grandchildren held a special place in his life and his heart. They, in turn, hold him in a special part of their hearts.
-An electrician's prayer: "Watch over me as I practice my craft. Guide my hands to be smooth, and my brain to be creative. Give me peace as I go through my day. Grant me wisdom to make good choices and to always stay safe. Let me always remember the privilege I have to use my free will and creativity to harness the power of the world you made." -Joseph Moody
Michael was preceded in death by his biological father, Jimmy Owen Land, Sr., his step father, Charles R. Adams; a step sister, Janice Renee Kaleta.
